Contracts and contestability

On 1 July 2011 Tasmanian businesses that use between 50MWh and 150MWh of electricity per annum at one site (with electricity bills between around $10 000 and $30 000 per site per year) will be open to competition which means they become contestable.

These businesses will have the option to enter into an electricity supply contract or stay on their current tariff. This is their opportunity to ask Aurora about the best electricity deal for them.

Businesses that become contestable under these conditions are known as Standing Offer Contestable Customers (SOCC).

If your business uses over 150 MWh per site per year (with electricity bills over $30,000 per site per year) please see our large business information.
