Quality, certification and accreditation
Certification
Some areas of Aurora Energy are quality certified to Australian Standard AS/NZS ISO 9001. The certification covers the provision of construction. operational and maintenance services to the electricity industry. This includes bid management, contract management, project management, fleet management, warehousing, distribution and procurement services, metering services and the Aurora Training School.
Occupational health and safety
Aurora Energy Safety Management Statement (PDF 344kB) is based on the Det Norske Veritas International Safety Rating system. The system is certified to the Australian Standard AS/NZS 4801 Safety and Health Management Systems.
Environmental quality system and accreditation
Aurora's environmental management system (EMS) is structured to conform to the international standard for environmental management. The company is certified to AS/NZS ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems. We were among the first 100 companies in Australia to achieve this certification.
The EMS contains procedures to assist in the environmental management of Aurora’s key activities and also provides an assurance that environmental commitments are being met.
Aurora has appointed environmental representatives within each division to ensure this commitment is maintained throughout the company's operations.
An independent certification agency conducts surveillance audits at six-monthly intervals to ensure these high performance standards continue to be met. A system of 'self checking' is in place with internal specific audits undertaken regularly to ensure we're on track.
