Historical network tariff information
Tasmania entered the National Electricity Market in 2005 and customers with consumption greater than 150 MWh were able to purchase electricity from the retailer of their choice. Over time more customers may be given the option of choosing their preferred electricity retailer.
This means that some customers may receive their electricity accounts from a retailer other than Aurora Energy. Aurora remains essentially the only provider of distribution services in Tasmania. Customers will receive a bill from the retailer of their choice that includes a charge from Aurora for the use of the distribution system (poles wires cables etc).
Within this development we conducted a network tariff strategy process in order to set our pricing strategy between 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2012.
